Launch

On April 26, 2011, in News, by JG

This is a soft launch of a secondary web site to the main Pepper Rafferty site. Why are we launching a secondary site? We love our Pepper Rafferty branding but we have had feed back that is can put off the smaller companies. We exist to help smaller businesses get into the web video market, the last thing we want to do is scare people off! We are not expensive, we do have a quality pedigree, and pepper has had some great clients to date. But we want to make sure we are accessible. SO this isn’t a bargain or budget version of Pepper Rafferty! This is not the Ryanair of Web Video, this is designed to be an accessible site that ensures we don’t let any company slip through the net. Web video is simple it has great results and it is not expensive to do. So do please contact us if you’d like to know more. Call 02079792093, the call will be answered as Pepper Rafferty, but we do not bite (in your pocket)

Viral Video – the myth

On May 9, 2011, in Advice, by JG

Just adding video to your web site will improve your connection with your visitors. If you are selling a service or a product people will be more engaged with you if they can see or hear you or the product or even both. But it actually isn’t an issue if your video doesn’t go viral, truth is it wont. Of the video’s designed to go viral about 1 in a million do, most viral videos come out of the blue, who would have though a young child of his head on gas and air after a visit to the dentist would get 200m views and counting? The father and son tea no run a business making personal appearances. Your video isn’t going to do that. Your video should explain to your customers why you are the best. If you work at your traffic and 3 times more people visiting your site do something positive because of the video your job is done. If 10 new people visit your site a day and just 1 pick up the phone, writes and email or buys imagine the difference to your business if 3 people do that because you Just add video! So go on give us a call, we’ll help you get the right video onto your site.

We spent today shooting Landing Page Videos. These are key to any video strategy on a web site. You have to be bold, the videos can’t be hidden away. We once called a well known supplier of household goods, we said they should have video on their site. We were deeply embarrassed when the reply was a curt, “our site has video for 40% of our products.” We thought at the time we were going mad! After an hour we finally found the video – believe me, we know video on the web if it took us that long, the video is well hidden. It is pointless to make the investment in video if you don’t put it in a place it can be found. You have to know where the entry points are on your site that your visitors find first. The video you place at these entry points must engage the customer, build trust and keep them hooked!

Jonathan Glazier

I’m a passionate “videomaker” (as my 4 yearold daughter calls me) I started my career in the sound department of ATV Elstree working on some of the greatest shows UK TV has seen. The Muppet Show, Auf Wiedersehen Pet, Block Busters, General Hospital, the Cedar Tree and some classic specials, Dizzy Feet, Giselle, the list goes on (and on) and it was a privilege.
I moved to Central in Nottingham and became a News Director. Soon moving onto music shows and then Game Shows. I went freelance and directed Stars in Their Eyes and This Morning at Granada. Directing is the best job in TV, it is the one I enjoy the most.
I produced and directed several shows Generation Game, Don’t Try This at Home and directed several Audience with… and a Royal Variety.
I was always passionate about computing and code as well as being expert and a very early adopter of the WWW building sites for over 25 years. The web is a place I know, video has been my business. Adding video to web sites is the most logical progression and one I simply love. I can help you make a success of your online presence using video. SO do drop me an email.
